Programs |
Villa di Maria has two Primary Classes. Children are introduced to a wide variety of activities and material to assist in the total development of the child, which cultivates his own desire to learn. Lessons are reinforced by our 6 acre wooded campus. Students are allowed to work at their own pace and to make choices in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Maintaining the same directress and environment for three years nurtures security, builds confidence, and provides a framework in which intellectual and social discipline go hand in hand. Children age 2 ½ -4 participate in a half-day academic program with an option for supplemental care. Children near the age of 5 participate in a full-day academic program. |
Primary Montessori Classes Age 2 ½ to 6 |
Elementary Montessori Class Ages 6 to 12 |
The Elementary class is a 6-12 environment. A variety of lessons are introduced while allowing the curriculum to be defined by the student in conjunction with the director. The lessons are designed to stimulate the developing brain of the school aged child. Use of imagination and creative expression are encouraged. Time management and social skills are developed, while nurturing a lifelong love of learning. The curriculum encompasses the traditional subjects of reading, writing, math, science and history. Additional subjects taught are music, art, drama, Spanish and Latin. Our campus is used for study, physical education, and inspiration. These elements provide the student with outlets for intellectual and social growth. An overnight, trips into the larger community, and projects enhance studies. |
